Miyagawa studied at Toho Gakuen and graduated at the top of her class from Mozarteum University in Salzburg. A prizewinner of many international competitions, she performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician.

Her NHK FM performance Nagasaki: Tones of Prayer won the Excellence Prize at the 73rd Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival, and her album Black Swan was named Best New Release by New York Public Radio. She has appeared at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.
