Ryutaro SUZUKI

Born in Kamakura, Kanagawa in 1990, he moved to France in 2008 to study at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where he trained under Bruno Rigutto, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Michel Béroff, and Michel Dalberto, completing his higher education there. He later pursued graduate studies at the University of Strasbourg under Marta Grabocz, writing his master’s thesis on Franz Liszt’s paraphrases. In Italy, he also studied with the legendary Georgian pianist Eliso Virsaladze.

He has been a prizewinner in numerous international competitions, including First Prize at the 17th Île-de-France International Piano Competition (2015), Second Prize at the Emil Gilels International Competition, and the Maurice Ravel Prize at the Ravel International Academy. Additional distinctions include a Special Prize at the Tbilisi International Piano Competition and the Best Performance of Spanish Music Prize at the International Piano Competition “Cidade de Ferrol.” He has also been supported by the Blüthner Foundation and the Ravel International Academy.
